Chaos Theory.... Interesting fact or imagination???

Chaos theory, or otherwise known as the butterfly effect. Its intriguing how it sounds unbelievable yet true. The fluttering of a butterfly's wings in the US can cause a typhoon in Japan. A simple analogy... Small simple incidence leading to unforeseen happenings.
Whats you take?

hmm.. but there's too many obstacles that will interrupt or disperse the movement of the wind.. if a butterfly's fluttering does cause a typhoon somewhere.. imagine wat we could do just by fanning ourselves. hah..

Yeah true, but unless the world fans together at the same time; at the same direction; at the same place. I cannot imagine what will that make, the end of world?
Ultimately, I believe the logic of breaking a stick is easy, but breaking 10 together is really hard. So, I can really imagine what is the outcome of something small and powerless to become a disaster that we can never imagine.

Maybe it doesn't only apply to physical happenings. Think of the psychological and social aspect of it. It may apply more easily. A simple statement leading to a misunderstanding and den an end of a long lived friendship. A simple innocent cause, a major effect. Things simple as throwing a banana skin and den leading to a fall and a death is an example... Hmmm.... I'm crapping... LOLZ... People... Try watching The Butterfly Effect. Its nice.

Chaos theory or the butterfly effect are both of the same thing. Its something about a small gesture or action that can lead to drastic long-term results. Natural phenomenons (eg: hurricanes) portray the definition of the chaos theory well.
The butterfly effect movie shows about a man who could "change" fragments of his past but the consequences of his actions were unexpected. Doesn't really explain the true meaning of the butterfly effect but it's still a great show.
Khengsoon's examples are pretty much clear cut to me.

oh okok... yeah then it makes more sense... so 'butterfly effect' is just a term to describe wat u just said: smthing small that happens which causes a big effect.. not literally referring to the butterfly.. :p i know u're not crapping.. hehe
